Exercise Metabolic Testing

Train Smarter, Not Harder…

How hard do you need to exercise to reach your goals?

The exercise assessment works by analyzing the volume of oxygen consumed during exercise.  The assessment uses these measures along with your heart rate to create your own unique metabolic profile.

Fat is the most energy-dense of all the nutrients making it a great source of energy for the body.  Through proper diet and exercise, we can teach the body to be more effective at burning fat which will make us much more efficient and less of it will be unused and stored on the body.

Sounds good, doesn’t it?

Here’s even more good news…

According to research reported in 2005 by Dr. Thomas Allison at the Mayo Clinic, even a small improvement in VO2 (your body’s ability to absorb the oxygen it needs to burn fat efficiently) can decrease your risk for cardiovascular disease by 50%.

An exercise assessment is done by a qualified personal trainer at BodyFit and requires only about 15 minutes on the treadmill.  Utilizing the results we can determine your body’s unique response to exercise and therefore be able to determine exactly what intensity you should exercise at to achieve your goals in the most efficient manner.  The data collected through your exercise assessment can then be used by your BodyFit trainer to create an individualized training program based on target heart rates identified in the test.

Exercise Metabolic Test provides information such as:

  • Calories burned per hour at different heart rate zones
  • V02 Peak
  • Anaerobic Threshold
  • Aerobic Threshold
  • Heart rate
